Our mission is to advance breast cancer screening research by developing computational methods to analyze at-risk dense breast tissue that traditional mammography cannot characterize, with the goal of providing clinicians with analytical tools for screening decisions. Our biophysics-driven approach is grounded in measurable physical principles rather than opaque computational methods.
WAVED Medical LLC was founded in July 2022 as a spinoff from the CompuMAINE Lab at the University of Maine, with the goal of translating over a decade of breakthrough research into a commercial solution. Led by Dr. Andre Khalil, our team has developed a patented computational approach that addresses a critical gap in mammography screening.

Andre Khalil, Ph.D.
Dr. Khalil brings nearly 30 years of expertise in computational image analysis and breast cancer research. His work has been published in leading journals and presented at major conferences worldwide. As co-inventor of WAVED’s core technology, he holds the patent for the computational approach that forms the foundation of our proposed mammography enhancement solution.
